2 Weeks

Just a quick update:

I have been in Cambodia for about 2 weeks now. I feel like I have done nothing at all but I have also done a lot since being here. I have my own little apartment at a guesthouse about 10 minutes from Overflow (the guesthouse where I will work.) So here is just a little of what I (and Teddy) have been up to.

My team has been really gracious in allowing me time to adjust from jet-lag and transition from Texas to Cambodia. Most of my rest time looks like Netflix.

This is Edgar, Emily’s dog. He is 6 months old and full of energy.

Another teammate, Jordan, has started roasting coffee. Through his relationship with a local coffee shop, we were able to do a coffee cupping or tasting.

I have been able to continue my running while here and I run on dirt roads past fields and cattle. I am still in the country here.

There is a pool at our guesthouse where I have gone to read and relax and to get Teddy out and about.

The whole Overflow staff and their kids (American and Cambodian) went to see the Khmer Circus a few days after I arrived. I forgot to take pictures but it was really good.

I have started training on the Guesthouse programs and spending more time with the staff the last few days. I have also learned to drive a moto and will use that for transportation while here. (Please don’t mention that to my Granddad, though!)

I am excited for this next season in life. I think the last season in Plainview, TX prepared me well for life on the mission field.
